Honeydew touched down on the floor outside the Jaffa factory, looking down at the kitten as he sat up and stretched, yawning widely. The dwarf smiled and walked inside the Jaffa cafe, grabbing one of the spaceman's pillows - which somehow appeared to be softer than his - and placed it on the chest that sat next to his own bed. He put the kitten down in it before turning off the light and crawling into his own covers, curling up.
"Night friend." He said, getting just a loud meow back.
Xephos sat up a few seconds later, hearing just the dwarf slowly breathing in and out. He mewed, not getting a response. He slowly made his way to the side of the chest, looking down at the dwarf, his eyes illuminating the room as he mewed again. He whined as the dwarf didn't answer, obviously asleep. He stepped down onto the bed, falling over because of the bounciness of the mattress. He shuffled forwards and down under the covers, crawling around and up until he was curled up next to the dwarf.
Honeydew woke, looking down slowly and sleepily to the kitten that had curled up. He smiled and pulled the kitten up, so that he was against his chest in his arms. It was comfy like that, having the tiny little kitty in his hands. He could get used to this.
Xephos purred gently as he felt the dwarfs warm arms wrap around his little frame, and as he was pressed against his chest softly, feeling the warmth radiate into him, keeping him warm.
They both drifted to sleep not long after that.
------------
Lalna sighed and crawled into bed, glad that he didn't feel sick anymore. No wonder Xephos hadn't wanted to eat the cat food, it was vile.
He let out a sigh as he got comfy and began to drift to sleep. It would be a long day tomorrow. And while working on the machine he would have to find Nilesy's cat, he was sure it wouldn't have been able to get itself back to him after all.
------------
The dwarf opened his eyes and squinted as the sun shone through the window at him. He was laying on his back, the small kitten curled up on his chest in a little fluff ball. He smiled and stroked him, listening to him purr as he opened his big blue eyes.
"Morning friend." The dwarf yawned, stretching. The kitten stretched as well, opening his mouth wide as he yawned and dug his claws down. "Ow! Careful buddy..." Honeydew said, tapping the kittens tiny paws. Xephos lifted his paws away as the dwarf tapped them and then mewed as his friend began to play around with his paws. He pulled them away and then rolled onto his back, grabbing his friends hand with all four of his paws and wrapping his tiny body around it, biting at it playfully.
The dwarf laughed and ruffled the fur on the kittens belly as he did this.
"You're so much more relaxed like this." Honeydew stated, and suddenly pulled his hand back as the kitten bit down hard. "Oi!"
The kitten hissed and backed away slightly.
"I didn't mean it like that friend..." The dwarf sighed. Xephos looked up at him, what if the dwarf and scientist decided to leave him as a cat forever?! After all they both seemed to like him better now that he was in this tiny, helpless body. What if they decided they just didn't want the real Xephos back? "Come on buddy." Honeydew said, picking the kitten up carefully. "Its time for breakfast." He stood and walked into the Jaffa factory.
------------
Whilst the milk was being warmed up for Xephos the dwarf made his own breakfast, bacon and eggs like usual. Xephos sat looking up at him and then to his plate, he missed real food. The milk was very nice, but he wasn't a real kitten. Surely he could have normal food...? He mewed to the dwarf who looked down at him and gave him a gentle pat on the head.
"What's wrong buddy?" He asked, a mouth full of bacon. Xephos gave him a look. "Oh I think your milk should be done." Honeydew said, causing Xephos to wish he could roll his eyes as the dwarf walked over to get the milk. He layer down and looked over to his friend as he brought the milk over. "Come on Xeph, sit up..." Honeydew said, sitting back down and putting the milk down with a dropper next to it. "Lalna said you need to eat a lot to keep your strength up." He waited for a moment and then looked across to the kitten, who hadn't moved and was just laying there, looking up at him. "Xeph... Come on..." He said. But the kitten didn't show any intention of moving. "Xeph..." He stood and walked over, putting his hands around the kitten, who suddenly turned and clawed at him, making him pull away. "Fuck hell! Xeph!" The dwarf said, taking off his gloves to study the puncture wounds on his hands. He looked down to the kitten, who was backing away from him, his back arches. "Xeph why the fuck did you just do that?!" He yelled, making the kitten flinch. "Sorry... Just Xeph please just come and let me feed you. You need to eat..." He watched the kitten for a moment, as he sat up and looked down at the table before looking up at him. The dwarf sighed and knelt down in front of him. "I shouldn't have tried to grab you... Sorry..." He said. "But, you do have to eat. Come on, I bet you're hungry." He stood back up and walked back over to his seat. Xephos watched him for a moment before slowly making his way over. The dwarf put his hand out, and he slowly crept up onto it, padding his paws down until he got comfy. He then let the dwarf pull him closer and sucked some of the milk up, lifting it to him, and slowly leant forward, licking at the end of the dropper. It made him feel sleepy once again and once he was finished with the dropper he yawned. The dwarf smiled and held the kitten closer as he continued eating his breakfast.
Xephos snuggled down into the dwarfs arms, closing his eyes and purring as the dwarf petted his head, stroking behind his ears as he drifted to sleep.
------------
Lalna sighed, running a hand through his hair before slowly placing his goggles back on top of his head. He looked down to the blueprints, before turning in his chair and spinning over to the other machine and pressing the buttons before grabbing another piece of the machine and getting some bolts. This would take a lot longer than he thought. He hoped Xephos would be able to cope with being a kitten for a few days longer.
------------
Xephos dreamed what would happen if the other two left him like that. How he would attempt to help them with work but just had to avoid their footfalls as they busily walked around. Or would they even do work? Would they even attempt to keep up with the work that he usually tried to do.
He woke up, being shook slightly by Honeydew. He noticed that he had been digging his claws down into his arm. He slowly retracted them, looking sleepily up at the dwarf and yawning again.
"Were you having a bad dream?" The dwarf asked, stroking his friend. The kitten whined up at him, struggling to sit up. "Xeph...?" The dwarf stopped petting him and placed him down on the table. Xephos had his chin resting on the dwarfs hand, and didn't move it as he looked up at the dwarf, his eyes half open as he continued to whine. "Xeph... Come on... You need to eat..." He turned and licked up the dropper with his free hand and then turned back to the kitten, who stay where he were. "Xeph sit up..." He said calmly. The kitten didn't respond. "Xeph... Come on, you remember what I said before...?" He asked. But frowned when the kitten still didn't respond. He moved his hand a little, knocking the kittens head up and down slowly. He quickly picked him up and rocked him. "What's wrong...? Oh god what's wrong?" He asked, starting to worry as the kitten just whined, his eyes still weakly half open. "Were going to Lalna..." He said, quickly grabbing his jetpack as he ran into the Jaffa cafe, and then putting it on before quickly flying over to the castle.
Shit hits the fan. Like usual.
